Montreal Society of Implantology presents
Dr. Vinh Giap Nguyen
A SUBPERIOSTEAL TUNNELING TECHNIQUE
For Root Coverage and Periimplant Soft Tissue Recession
A hands-on Workshop
Various tunneling surgical procedures have been documented for the treatment of gingival recession. Their advantages include minimizing surgical trauma, maintaining better blood supply, preserving papillary integrity, reducing post-grafting tissue retraction, absence of scar tissue and excellent root coverage.
During this full-day lecture and hands-on workshop, plastic models and pig jaws will be used to demonstrate the tunneling technique.
Lecture objectives
- Understand a classification of gingival recession.
- Understand the application and technique of a subperiosteal tunneling procedure for improving soft tissue condition and correction of implant or root exposure.
- Handling microsurgical tunnelling instruments.
- Learning to safely harvest and handle autologous connective tissue graft.
- Understanding the application of Geistlich Fibro-Gide® as graft material.
- Learning the suturing techniques to stabilize the gingival tissue and graft materials.
